A tip for those tippy umbrella strollers.

So you love how easy to use your umbrella stroller is to use, but you have found that there is one thing you HATE about it... if you put anything on the back it makes your stroller tippy. I have had many moments where I have forgotten that my diaper bag is on the back, and when I pull my son out, WHAM, down goes the stroller. It was even worse when he was smaller. I was always afraid it would go over without him but I still wanted my Fleurville on the back.

I discovered a neat trick to help out the weight balance. I went and got a pair of cheep ankle weights. The kind filled with sand and secured with Velcro straps. I wrapped these around the front bars of my stroller, low, right above the footrest so they won't hit the wheels. If you can get them on lower to the front wheels the better the balance. Mine don't interfere with folding my Maclaren at all. It does, however, add some weight. I don't keep them on all the time anymore now that he is bigger. I do pop them on for a trip to the mall, when I know he will be in and out of the stroller and we will probably have a load on the handles. I would so recommend getting a set if you are heading to the zoo or theme parks. You know that everyone will be stuffing things in and around the stroller... and your kiddo will probably go from running along side to sleeping in the stroller by the end of the day. Having a less tippy stroller is just one less thing to frustrate us moms.
